Welcome to the July Featured Throw of the Month! This month we have the Patriotic Pride Throw made in Super Saver. Each month we will have a new themed throw as a featured free pattern. Use the hashtag #throwmonth to talk about the series. Download the Patriotic Pride Throw! Tip The throw this month is made in Super Saver, but the sample is done in Soft. One of the special stitches for this throw is the sc2tog-over-4, or single crochet 2 together over 4 stitches. It's easier than it sounds! This decrease creates a sharp angle to help you make the ripples in this throw.The sample starts with a couple of rows of single crochet. To start the stitch, insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. You'll have two loops on your hook. Next, skip the next two stitches. Insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. You'll have three loops on your hook, and in the middle you'll have two skipped stitches. The loops on the hook are spread out in this picture so you can clearly see the two skipped stitches between the loop on the left and the loop in the middle. Yarn over, and draw through all 3 loops on hook. You will have one loop on your hook, and will have completed the decrease. This picture shows the sample after the rest of the row is completed. You can see how it bends in the middle where the decrease is.
