If you're like me, sometimes you want to knit away mindlessly and at other times it's nice to try a new cable stitch. I just received the new Creative Knitting magazine and was thrilled to see the Autumn Afghan using Red Heart Soft yarn. Not only is it beautiful, it features a step-by-step article that actually teaches how to do the trinity stitch bobbles, little chain cross stitches, and bobble diamonds. So if you have never tried a cable before, or if you love cables, be sure to check out this afghan. It is knit in large 12 squares, making it a take-along-with-you project (large squares means there are only 16 squares). Every other square is a Rice Stitch pattern which will be included in a follow up article in the January issue of Creative Knitting. Thanks to designer Trish Warrick you can add 4 new textural patterns to your repertoire! If you make this afghan in colors other than the muted fall greens and neutrals in the magazine, be sure to share a photo on our Red Heart Yarns Facebook page.
