This is an intermediate sewing project that results in a sturdy, kid-size backpack. Sew with strong and durable Coats & Clark Dual Duty XP all-purpose thread. Choose bright colors and webbing and trim to accent the fabric.

- Coats & Clark Surelock® serger thread (optional).
- 5/8 yard (.57m) of print for outer backpack.
- ½ yard (.46m) of cotton for lining Cotton batting.
- 33" (84cm) of 1" (2.5cm) wide red webbing.
- 33" (84cm) of 1" (2.5cm) wide turquoise webbing.
- Piping or zipper foot for the sewing machine.
- 6" (15cm) of 1" (2.5cm) wide yellow webbing.
- 7" (18cm) of 1" (2.5cm) wide black webbing.
- One pkg. Maxi piping 28" (71cm) of drawstring.
- Two cord locks.
- Two 1" (2.5cm) rectangle rings.
- Two 1" (2.5cm) slider adjusters.
- Chalk or an air soluble fabric marker.
- 2" (5cm) of hook and loop fastener (Velcro).
