It’s such a pleasure to share my adventures with you and I want you to know how grateful I am that you show up each month to hear about my latest project! I was rather excited to find that the March Lookbook theme is centered around babies. My newest niece is just under a year old and I look for any excuse to knit or crochet her something adorable! She has a modern and geometric nursery with hues of coral, green, blue and yellow – a palette that would make anyone smile! You can imagine my delight to find a chevron baby blanket in the collection of new patterns. The style is perfect for her and as if that wasn’t good enough, baby peach, lemon lime, baby yellow, baby teal and white match her nursery perfectly! I went a little rogue with the color pattern and customized a repeat that would incorporate each of the colors I chose. I love how this demonstrates the flexibility of a pattern and just how much color impacts the final project. Rather than using two colors and four rows of each, I went with the five colors listed above, alternating every two rows, returning to white in between each transition. I simply love the Bernat Blanket line and how perfectly soft it is. It has such a great texture and really makes a cozy blanket. I love how the close ups make it look so fluffy – it reminds me of marshmallows! This texture paired with the stitch placement create a super soft, super textured blanket that would look amazing even in a solid color. If you haven’t tried a chevron stitch pattern yet, you must!
