Back in New York to photograph more Red Heart projects, and I love to have the chance to check out knits in all the store windows. January is the peak time shopping for warm stuff and the stores are full of scarves, hats, mitts and sweaters. For me, it's the perfect time to look for knitwear inspiration. From the catalogs and web sites I've visited, this season seemed to lack color. A few store visits proved this fact “ Club Monaco, J. Crew, Banana Republic. Yes, there were beautiful cables and textural knits, but everywhere I looked “ neutrals! Finally, I turned the corner near the Diesel store and my Red Heart beat faster. There was red yarn in the windows everywhere. What a sight! I started snapping photos “ skeins and balls of red yarn. What a beautiful display. Add a little color to your knitting and crocheting. One-Ball Garter Stitch Scarf or Ponytail Hat. Just add color! It is the perfect way to beat the winter blues!
