Every four years we look forward to watching athletes compete on the world stage at the Olympics, but the Summer 2021 games brought a new wave of attention to a different hobby altogether. It’s no secret all great stitchers take to multi-tasking no matter what the activity and British diver Tom Daley charmed audiences globally when he was spotted stitching in the stands between dives. In 2022 the Craft Yarn Council launched The Great Yarn Challenge, encouraging stitchers to pick up a new project. Spotting yarn in the wild is something that always excites us and as history shows, gets others interested in what’s on our hooks. Choosing a pattern with simple repeats will allow you to keep your eyes on the action over your stitches. 3. Assemble a travel kit for smaller supplies so you don’t forget your stitch markers!
