Tip

The throw this month is made in Super Saver, but the sample is done in Soft.

Today we'll show you how to do the crossed-dc, or crossed double-crochet. You can see the description of this stitch in the Special Stitches section at the start of the pattern. We've done a row of single crochet, a row of double crochet, and a couple of double crochet stitches to start the sample, but you'll be working this stitch where it is called for in the pattern.

To start, you'll want to identify the next two stitches that you would normally work into.

Instead of working into the next stitch, you will skip the next stitch and work a double crochet (dc) into the following stitch.

Next, you'll go BEHIND the dc you just worked in order to work a dc in the stitch that you skipped. To make it easier to put your hook in, fold the stitch you just made forward, so you can put your hook into the fabric from the front like normal.
