Shandeh’s Cushy Lace Wrap in Patons…

If you’ve been following our Facebook page, you may have noticed that I recently designed a knitted wrap, using Patons Beehive Baby Chunky yarn. I know….the yarn is supposed to be used for babies. But, I really love how soft it feels, and I wanted to make something for ME with that lush, comfy yarn. So, I pulled out my stitch dictionaries, and came up with a pretty lace design combination that works well with the yarn, if I do say so myself.

The edging runs along just one side. I like it that way. If you knit it yourself, you might want to add some knit stitches along the other edge, for a garter edging on the other side.

When I started working on the design, I planned on using 6 skeins of yarn, but it was the right length after just 5 skeins. I’ve looked up compatible gauge yarns on the website, and can recommend using Patons Shetland Chunky as an alternate. I used 600 yards of yarn for my wrap.

Here’s how the wrap looked when I finished:

I was so pleased with how it turned out, and it was finished in time for my trip to visit my sons on the west coast! It was perfect for keeping me comfy and warm on the planes, trains, taxis, buses, shuttles, and cars during my trip. The wrap held up well after 8 days of travel, and it’s just as soft and lovely as ever.

It hasn’t been tested yet, so feel free to give it a go, and tell me how you like it.
