Showcase the brand name, color dots, or a message written by the designer on the selvage edge of the fabric. Quilting cotton in particular has interesting designs. . Layer them horizontally or diagonally for added interest. Sew with Coats & Clark all-purpose thread.

  • Coats & Clark™ Dual Duty XP® All-purpose Thread.
  • Assorted fabric selvages, cut to include ¼" of adjacent fabric.
  • Two squares lightweight fusible interfacing, 4½" x 4½" (11.5cm x 11.5cm) (or, one square of interfacing and one square of backing fabric, if only one side is pieced).
  • Stuffing (see note shown right).
  • Corner turner.
  • One or two buttons (optional, for a tufted version).
  • Small funnel (optional).
