Spring has us all dreaming of flowers and warmer weather, but don't let that keep you from your yarn! Craft this dreamcatcher in your favorite colors to add color and texture to any room of your home. Supplies Metal ring for base of dreamcatcher (I used one measuring 10 in diameter) Scrap yarn (I used E300 Super Saver in 311 White A, 885 Delft Blue B and 520 Minty C) Hot glue gun Scissors Pompom maker (optional) Tassel maker (optional) Begin by wrapping yarn around the ring. I cut 3' lengths and used small dabs of hot glue to help secure the yarn ends. The yarn should be wrapped snugly, and pushed down to completely cover the ring. Continue adding dabs of glue and wrapping until the whole ring is covered. To begin the center of the dreamcatcher, cut a length of color A twice the circumference of the ring (in my case, 20) and tie it to the ring, leaving a tail. Tie single knots evenly spaced around the ring and tie off where you started. You will now have loops all the way around your ring. Cut a 20 length of color B and tie it to the center of a color A loop, leaving a tail. Loop B around the center of each A loop on the ring. When you get to the end, pull the yarn taut and tie off next to the first knot you made, then trim the yarn close to knot. This will cause the A loops to tighten up into triangle shapes. Cut another 20 length of color B and tie it to one of the B loops already on the hoop, leaving a tail. Loop B in the center of each loop on the ring. When you get to the end, pull the yarn taut and tie off next to the first knot you made. Do not trim yarn. Make another round of loops, continuing with the same yarn length, pull the yarn taunt until you are satisfied with the shape of the other loops. Tie off and trim close to knot. To make a hanging loop, tie the original tails in color A together. Now that the base of your dreamcatcher is finished, make an assortment of pompoms and tassels to decorate it. Tie these on wherever you like, try braiding ends together to a Add texture, or wrapping contrasting colors around the ring to a Add pops of color. Hang it up and enjoy!
