I'm on a Red Heart Reflective Yarn kick... I don't know about you, but I just can't get enough of it! Last year I made headbands for my nieces, nephew and cousins when we went on our family mountain trip (click here to read that blog) and I'm thinking about making more. The way the reflective thread woven into the yarn lights up during a flash photo just amazes me...I'm easily amused, I know. Little Miss Addy will be here in March, so for her baby shower gift I thought I would give her a personalized crate she could use to store her books and toys. I already had Reflective Neon Pink in my yarn stash, so all I needed was a wood crate, letters and paint which I purchased at Michaels (available at Jo-Ann stores, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby too). After I painted the wood crate a light pink, I set it aside to dry. Then I took the first wood letter, A, and I taped the yarn end to the back of the letter first then began wrapping it with the yarn. After covering all the wood on the front of the wood letter, I cut the yarn and taped the other end to the back. Then I continued wrapping the rest of the letters. Then, after I made sure the paint on the crate was completely dry, I glued the wrapped letters to the crate. See what happens when you take a flash photo......... ...Pretty neat huh?! I hope you enjoy this yarn as much as I do!
