Crochet along Christmas Characters Hosted by Repeat Crafter Me Easy Join us for the Christmas Characters Crochet Along with Sarah of Repeat Crafter Me! Sarah designed a super fun Christmas blanket for the whole family to enjoy! The Christmas Characters blanket features a set of recognizable holiday characters, making it perfect for the upcoming season. Follow along each week as we crochet the afghan together! As you go along, make sure to share your progress on the Yarnspirations Stitch Squad Facebook Group and tag @Yarnspirations on Instagram. Week 1: Blanket Base Merry Crochet Along! Welcome to week one of this jolly project. We are starting by crocheting the base of this wonderful afghan. The base is made up of rows of single crochet stitches and color changes. The color changes will create large striped panels, which will become the bodies of our fun characters. After some easy stitching, the bulk of our blanket is done! Rudolph leads the way as our first Christmas character to be completed! We start out by crocheting in the round to create eyes, the snout, and the bells for his collar. Then we move on to make the ears and antlers. We finish off by attaching the embellishments we created onto the blanket. TIP: Keep this tutorial at your fingertips as you may want to refer to it during the following weeks. Fun fact: The pattern for Rudolph’s ears is the same as the Elf’s ears! You will see many of the circles we crochet are repeated several times just in different colors for other character elements as well. Download Lesson 2 Don't have supplies? But repeating rows of single crochet and double crochet stitches make all these embellishments pretty simple to work up! Keep an eye out in the coming weeks, as Santa’s hat and belt are made in the same way as the Elf’s! Download Lesson 3 Don't have supplies? Get info about what you need to join the Crochet Along here. Week 4: Snowman Frosty the CROCHETED Snowman, was a jolly happy soul! Just a few crocheted elements bring this snowman to life! The white background does almost all the work for us. Just add a few single crocheted circles for buttons and eyes. A crocheted carrot nose, a scarf, and top hat completes this cute Christmas character. Download Lesson 4 Don't have supplies? In this final week, you will be recreating many of the embellishments seen during previous weeks, as well as new embellishments such as the neck fringe. To make this project more festive, add on 4 peppermint pom-poms to each corner. The combination of red and white yarn is the perfect sweet candy finish! Download Lesson 5 Don't have supplies?
