Any Tiger fans out there? Auburn, LSU, Clemson, Princeton, Detroit? Well I've got the perfect baby tiger hat pattern just for you! I took Red Heart's Panda Baby Hat and tweaked it just a little to resemble a tiger and it's super cute!
I followed the pattern steps for the small hat size switching colors after 2 rows.
Then for the tiger face:
White circles: Make an adjustable ring, ch 2, 10 hdc in ring, sl st in first hdc.
Blue circles: Ch 2, 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in first sc.
Sew the blue circles onto the white circles.
Whiskers Make an adjustable ring, ch 2, 10 dc in ring, sl st in first dc.
Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc, sl st in first dc.
Sew whiskers on circles.
Make an adjustable ring, 12 dc in ring, sl st in first dc, *(sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in fourth dc) 3 times, sl st in first sc.
Ears (I followed the pattern to make the ears) (make 2)
With B, make an adjustable ring, ch 1.
Round 1 (right side): Work 10 hdc in ring; join with slip st in first st ”10 hdc. Pull gently, but firmly, on tail to tighten ring.
Round 2: Ch 1, hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st, [hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st] 4 times; join with slip st in first st ”15 hdc.
Round 3: Ch 1, hdc in each st around; join with slip st in first st.
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in each st around; join with slip st in first st ”15 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
With front facing, flatten hat and place stitch markers at Rounds 2 and 4 on each side of hat.
Flatten each ear and sew between markers.
Sew the ears, eyes, whiskers and nose onto the hat and make the braids and weave in your ends and you are done!
