Meet the designers

Gayle Bunn

Gayle studied Fashion Design and has been an avid crafter since childhood, with more than 30 years of designing experience in the yarn industry. She has been leading the Spinrite Design Team to inspire and share the joy of yarn crafting since 2008.

Svetlana Avrakh

Svetlana has over 25 years design experience in the yarn industry. She joined Spinrite in 1999 and since then has developed her designer’s passion into a vast array of projects. Her design journey goes from basic to high fashion with technical wizardry.

Nicole Winer

A lifelong crafter with a background in Fashion Design, Nicole has been a part of the Spinrite Design Team since 2007. Nicole loves to connect to the vivid and vast crafting community by designing fresh, fun and accessible projects for all skill levels.

Emily Berney

Emily has been knitting since she was a child and was taught by her aunt (her first dishcloth still lies unfinished somewhere). She picked up crochet in her university years while completing her theatre and film degree.  Emily has been with Spinrite since 2014, creating as a designer since 2016.

Katherine Poole-Fournier

Katherine joined the
Spinrite Design Team in 2017.  In
addition to knitting and crocheting, she also enjoys sewing and acquiring new fiber-arts skills.

Erin Black

Erin began exploring crafts as a child and, since studying Interior Design in college, her love of yarn and cozy spaces has become a fulfilling career. Erin's yarn career began as a freelance designer, publishing her own book, and then joining the Spinrite team in 2018 where she continues to create inspiring patterns.

Seema Persaud

Seema originally joined the Spinrite Digital Team to manage our social accounts and shifted roles to share her creative skills with the Design Team in 2019. With her technical background and keen sense of consumer trends, Seema brings unique skills to the team to take our pattern catalogue in exciting new directions.

Kat Brennan

Kat has been crocheting since childhood, and dabbles in many other creative pursuits including knitting, weaving, embroidery, drawing and music. After studying Visual and Creative Arts, she started designing patterns for her own blog in 2017. This led her to joining Spinrite as a Designer in Spring of 2022.
