FAQ - All In One Yarn

You’ve got questions? We’ve got you covered.
1. What do I do if the colors don't line up?

Adjust your hook size if you are finding the colors are not lining up after the first two or three rounds. If you don’t have enough yarn in the right shade to complete a round, go down a hook size. If you have too much of one color when a round is complete, go up a hook size.

If the colors are β€˜almost’ lining up, try pulling back a few stitches and adjust your tension for the last few stitches to achieve the correct point of color change.

2. Can I use any all in one motif pattern with this yarn?

Your creativity is the limit, and we encourage our makers to use our yarns for any endeavour. However, our All in One products are designed with a specific motif in mind, with the colour changes being carefully measured to make sure you can keep on stitching! In order to make sure you’re getting the motif shown on the ballband, please follow the pattern included on the inside.

3. Is this yarn compatible with regular Red Heart Super Saver?

Yes, we created the yarn to compliment the Red Heart Super Saver range of products. The shades in Red Heart All-In-One range are designed to coordinate with solid shades of Red Heart Super Saver.
If you'd like to find comparable solids for your project, we've compiled a list here.

4. Can I make the motifs smaller or bigger?

The All In One yarn is designed to make an exact motif on the ball! If you wish to make bigger or smaller squares we’d suggest looking at our Grande and Petite ranges for an easy experience. However if you want to make a bigger or smaller square using our original All In One Granny Square this can be done by stopping after 2, 3 or 4 rounds to make smaller squares BUT you need to use the shades in the order they appear from the ball when working any square for the colors to align correctly. For example, if you want to work 3 rounds to make a smaller granny square, you will need to cut off the shades that were intended for rounds 4 and 5, then rejoin yarn to work the first 3 rounds again.¬¬ To make bigger squares, simply work extra rows in the Super Saver color of your choice!

5. Is there yarn left at the beginning and end of each motif?

Each yarn comes with a tail at the end of the motif, which is perfect for assembling and adding finishing touches to your projects, with the pattern advising how much of a tail you should leave for each motif. The only exception is the original, which is measured to the exact size of the motif, so you will need extra yarn for seaming and assembly. If you’d like to find comparable solids for your project, we’ve compiled a list here

6. Can I use this yarn as a self-striping yarn and not work granny squares?

Yes you can! We’ve even created a few patterns to show off this yarn’s striping effect. This yarn is ideal to knit or crochet any worsted weight CYC#4 patterns.

7. Can I combine Motifs to make projects, or can I only use one type?

The Flower Power Motif and all of the Granny Square collection are designed to be combined in any way you wish. The general rule with stitching them together is that 1 Grande Square is the same size as 2 Granny Squares or Flower Motifs, which is the same size as 3 Petite Squares. We also have patterns that combine all of the motifs in case you need inspiration! Explore Patterns.
