Once the 231 stitches are on the needle and the first 2 rows are done where it says “proceed in stripe pattern”, when do I begin the 10 rows of stocking stitch immediately under Instructions?

    Asked by: Solee
This pattern is a little confusing to understand, hope this info helps. The stripe pattern reads in stocking st because you knit one row purl one row, the knit rows need to knit in the pattern which reads: 1st row: (RS). With A, K5. K2tog. *K8. (K1. yo. K1) all in next st. K8. Sl1. K2tog. psso. Rep from * to last 24 sts. K8. (K1. yo. K1) all in next st. K8. ssk. K5. The Purl rows will be worked as follows: 2nd and alt rows (except garter ridges): K5. Purl to last 5 sts. K5. Every so often the stripe pattern reads 2 garter ridges, this means that you will knit all sts in those 4 rows forming a garter ridge. Right after the pattern rows instructions it reads: First 2 rows of Stripe Pat are complete. You will work another 8 rows repeating those 2 rows of pattern in color A. Happy crafting.

I love this so much... I am at the end and not quite understanding if I am supposed to end with the garter st of my last color or use the same color that I started with?

    Asked by: NanaLynda5858
HI. You will end the afghan with the same color you just worked the previous row in. Happy crafting.
