Really enjoy your videos! My question is concerning the simply shawl. When chaining the beginning 68 chains, it doesn't look like it's long enough. When looking at the picture, it looks much bigger?

    Asked by: Vickiep
Hi. The beginning chain is the width of the shawl, the 99 rows is the length of the shawl. If you like you can always make it longer. The finished size is Approx. 25 ins x 68 ins.

Ch 68 is for the lesson sample. How many chains for the actual shawl. I tried downloading this pattern several times but it won't work; just keeps spinning.

    Asked by: NIJH
Hi. The pattern reads to chain 70 sts and work for 99 rows. This plus the border is the complete shawl. It will finish to Approx. 25 ins x 68 ins. I wills end you a copy of this pattern by email. Happy crafting.

3 stitches over at end of 2nd row, first shell row! Counting too, ended with same! 8x8 shell stitch pattern + 3 start = 67, not 70 count start.

    Asked by: Newcrocheter
Hi. There is a correction for this pattern, sorry for the inconvenience, the pattern should read. Ch 68. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across, turn – 67 sc. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), turn, dc in next 2 sc, *sk next 2 sc, shell in next sc, sk next 2 sc, dc in next 3 sc; repeat from * across, turn – 27 dc, and 8 shells. Rows 3–99: Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, *shell in 3rd dc of next shell, sk next 2 sts of same shell, dc in next 3 dc; repeat from * across, turn.
