I have started knitting this very pretty pattern but, after doing the first yo row, I have become confused. How do I knit the following row (row 6)? I knitted every stitch, including each yo stitch and have ended up with 20 extra stitches. Help!

The 5th row of the pattern reads as follows:
5th row: K1.
*(K2tog) twice. (Yo. K1) 4 times. (K2tog) twice. Rep from *
to last st. K1.
I have separated the section between * and *, this section is repeated across the row. Take note that you will have K2tog twice at the end of the repeat as well as a K2tog twice at the beginning of the repeat for a total of 4 - K2tog when you work across the row.
