Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Great Pattern! My first dog sweater, did it in 4 color striping (1 row per color alternating) Pretty easy to follow, only one or two things took a double read, but not bad Only issue was the leg holes which fit great BEFORE doing the cuffs, even though I did the cuffs loose they were waaay too small Suggestion is casting off a couple more stitches for the leg holes to make them a bit larger, or instead of doing a cuff leave as is Would make again!

hi, i am having a bit of difficulty understanding what is happening here: Note: all leg sections are worked at the same time using separate balls of yarn for each section. is this the leg hole and am i using new needles? i am confused. thanks.

    Asked by: shoregurl
Hi. When you get to the leg openings you will use the same needles but separate balls for each leg opening. Leg Openings: Next row: (RS). K5 (5-7-11) UNDER BODY SECTION. Cast off 4 (6-6-10) sts LEG OPENING. K36 (46-56-80) (including st on needle after cast off) MAIN BODY. Cast off 4 (6-6-10) sts LEG OPENING. Knit to end of row OTHER SIDE OF UNDER BODY. Once you have worked the number of inches for your size you will join it all back together.

Hello. I am about to start this sweater. What does inc 1 stitch at each end of needle mean?  Do you mean inc 1 stitch at beginning and end of row?

    Asked by: Suzie
Hi. Increase 1 stitch at each end of the needle means to increase 1 stitch at the beginning and end of the row.

I have a Labrador and her chest is 31 inches and she is 23 inches along her back. Could anyone tell me how I would get it to that size please?

    Asked by: Chazmummy
Hi. This dog coat is made with Bernat Super Value, to make it larger you would need to rewrite the pattern in a larger size. You could also make it with heavier yarn such as Bernat Softee Chunky, it would automatically make up larger. Good luck.

I'm wondering in this pattern is it a typo in the beginning? I'm stuck with increase the third row and every row. Is it supposed to be every other row or every third row? It doesn't seem to be turning out correctly.

    Asked by: Skylana
Hi. Hope this helps. Proceed in stocking st, inc 1 st at each end of needle on 3rd and AFTER THAT ON EVERY ROW UNTIL YOU HAVE to 50 (60-72-104) sts, then on EVERY OTHER ROW UNTIL YOU HAVE 54 (68-82-122) sts.
