In the 6th round it says ch 1 1 single crochet around last half double crochet. I would like to now what does that mean? please help

HI. The last thing that was done in the 5th row was - Join with 1 hdc in first sc.
This is the hdc that you are going to work the sc around.
6th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc around last hdc. *Ch 3. 1 sc in next ch-3 sp. Rep from * around. Ch 1. Join with 1 hdc in first sc.
The hdc forms a post, normally you would work into the st, this reads to work abound the post.
