Cocoon Cardigan is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pattern I did buy this a month ago and still working on it. I needed more yarn then the pattern called for my gauge is exact! I would say that the sweater is easy the only difference with this pattern is the ribbing is added on afterwards but really nice sweater!

Thank you for your response. I am actually unsure as to what the pattern is referring to when it states K1. *moss stitch pattern* P1. What does the beginning k1 and ending p1 refer to etc.? When inc. or dec. Using those stitches pattern is lost.

    Asked by: ZSUZSI
HI. The following 4 rows form the moss stitch pattern, you will repeat these 4 rows with a knit or purl st at the beginning and end of the rows. Happy crafting. 1st row: (RS). K1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to last st. K1. 2nd row: P1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to last st. P1. 3rd row: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to last st. K1. 4th row: P1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to last st. P1. These 4 rows form Irish Moss St Pat.

When there are increases and decreases in the pattern, how do you keep the moss stitch repeat as written in the pattern. When increasing or decreasing I find that I have to take the first stitch away to stay true to the stitch pattern. Thank you!

    Asked by: Zsuzsi
Hi. When decreasing or increasing within a pattern I like to put a marker on needles before working the first increase st, this way you keep the pattern straight. For decrease I put the maker at the beginning of the next repeat.

For the sleeves.. I cannot figure out the increase point. Example We have 42sts and you say Inc 1st at the end of following 6th rows up to 58sts.. It is a little confusing.. It will help if you explain.. Thanks.. Efthalia

    Asked by: Efthalia
The pattern reads Proceed in Irish Moss St Pat as given for Back, inc 1 st at EACH END of following 6th (6th-4th-6th- 4th-4th) rows to 58 (60-64-66-70-70) sts, taking inc sts into pat. -- You will work 5 rows even with no increases, on the 6th row you will increase 1 st at the end of the needles. I like to put a marker before that increase st so that I know where the pattern started. Since this is a 2 st repeat you will need to increase by 2 sts at each side before you can work the Moss st pattern. -- Keep working in this manner until you have 58 sts.

Would it be possible to knit this cocoon cardigan using larger  needles 10 mm Uk please? If so how would I calculate how many stitches to cast on

    Asked by: Maddie
Hi. Changing the needle size and yarn would require rewriting of the pattern, sorry at this time we do not have this pattern for different yarns. There is no simply formula to supply you with when changing a pattern, good luck.
