Bricks Blanket is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to understand Tutorial! Thank you for this tutorial! It was one of the best I've ever seen (and I do a lot of arts and crafts). It was well videoed - I could see every stitch, which really helped me as I am just taking up crocheting again now that I have more time to do so. I like the monologue too - very concise and almost all about the project which explained exactly what and why, extremely well, and didn't take up a lot of the viewer's time with non-pertinent info or have awkward silences! Thanks again!

I noticed your tutorial states to crochet 90 however the pattern on the bernat yarn wrappers says to chain 93. Was the pattern updated? I did not get width or length stated from pattern and I tried different hook sizes.

    Asked by: Bb22
The pattern has been updated - it should be chain 90.

Do you have a knitted version of the bricks blanket

    Asked by: Nanapop1
Hi. That particular pattern is only available in a crochet version. We have a number of knit patterns for Bernat Blanket, they can be found at: http://www.yarnspirations.com/patterns/knitting-patterns?yarn=164525

Help!  I am a novice at crochet, but I can usually figure out simple patterns.  However row 4 has me stumped: when it says draw up a loop around post of next D.C. 2 rows below at front of work inserting hook from left to right (whaaaaat?)

    Asked by: Pbr49
Hi. I have added some additional info, hope this helps. There is also a video for this pattern at: http://www.yarnspirations.com/patterns/bricks-blanket.html?id=197653 Post - is the st that is created when you make a dc, you will be working around this post instead of into the sts. Left to right around the post - normally we work right to left, by going around the post from the left to right we create a twist in the stitch. If you find this st to difficult you can work right to left with a similar result. When the pattern reads 2 rows below you will be skipping the row that you just worked and going into the sts in the row below that, for this reason you cannot do a dc you need to make a long sts. 4th row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). *3 dc in next ch-4 sp. Yoh and draw up a loop around post of next dc 2 rows below at front of work inserting hook from left to right. (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice – long dcfp made. Rep from * to last ch-4 sp. 3 dc in last ch-4 sp. 1 dc in last sc. Turn.

Concerning the gauge, I am using an N Hook and the throw is still coming up too small, about 44 inches wide. I am on my fourth skein and am only measuring about 15 inches long. At this rate, 8 balls of 5.3 oz yarn won't be enough. HELP

    Asked by: Gidge
HI. This is very strange, exactly what yarn are you using? Can you please supply me with all of the numbers from the ball band. Once I have more info I will try to assist you.

Ok watching the video definitely helped on row 4. Whats confusing is in the written pattern it says "inserting hook from left to right" and in the video he doesnt do that.

    Asked by: Amanda
Left to right will give the yarn a twisted look, both ways will work.

Also row 4 stumped. That link above does nothing but take you to the pattern page. Not understanding this long dcfp. Is there a video?
