Set of four size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) double-pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension. Stitch marker.

GAUGE

20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are written for smaller size. If changes are necessary for larger size the instructions will be written thus ( ). Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to both sizes.
 

With A, cast on 96 (100) sts. Divide sts on 3 needles: (32, 32, 32) (32, 32, 36). Join in rnd, placing marker on first st.
1st rnd: *K2. P2. Rep from * around.
Rep last rnd of (K2. P2) ribbing 4 times more.
With B, rep last rnd of (K2. P2) ribbing 6 times. Break B.
With A, rep last rnd of (K2. P2) ribbing 6 times. Break A Place marker at end of last rnd.
With MC, knit in rnds until work from marker measures 6 (6 1?2)" [15 (16.5) cm].
