BACK
**Cast on 90 (100-106-114) sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: P0 (0-1-0). K1 (0-2-1). *P4. K2. Rep from * to last 5 (4-1- 5) sts. P4 (4-1-4). K1 (0-0-1).
These 2 rows form pat.
Cont in pat until work from beg measures 17½ (17½-18-18) ins [44.5 (44.5-45.5-45.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row.
Armhole shaping: Keeping cont of pat, cast off 6 (7-8-9) sts beg next 2 rows.**
Dec 1 st each end of needle on next and following 4 (7-8-10) alt rows. 68 (70-72-74) sts.
Cont even in pat until armhole measures 8½ (9-9-) ins [21.5 (23-23-24) cm] ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off. Place markers for shoulders 18 (18-19-19) sts in from side edges.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth. Press lightly with a steam iron. Remove cloth when dry.
Sew shoulder seams. Place markers on front and back side edges 4¼ ins [11 cm] up from lower edge. Sew side seams to markers.
