Contrast A Warm Brown (01130) 1 ball (45 m/50 yds)
Contrast B White (00001) 1 ball (12 m/14 yds)

Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking stitch.

Do not break A. Join B.
With B, rep last 2 rows 3 times. 27 sts. Break B.
With A, rep last 2 rows until there are 39 sts.
Beg with a purl row, work 9 rows even in stocking st.
Next row: (RS). ssk. Knit to last 2 sts. K2tog.
Next row: K1. Purl to last st. K1.
Rep last 2 rows until 27 sts rem. Join B at end of last row.
With B, rep last 2 rows 3 times. 21 sts rem. Break B.
With A, rep last 2 rows until 3 sts rem.
Cast off.

Stitching Panel
With B, cast on 17 sts.
Knit 1 row.
Cast off.
Sew Stitching Panel to center of Football.
With B, work 'Stitches' as shown in picture, using straight stitch embroidery .
