In St st, using U.S. size 11 (8mm) needles and yarn doubled, 11 sts and  15 rows = 4"/10cm

 

In k2, p2 rib, using U.S. size 11 (8mm) needles and yarn doubled, 12 sts and 16 rows = 4"/10cm

NOTES
Garment is worked with two strands of yarn held together throughout.
The gauge and measurements will vary depending upon the rib worked.
The width of the ribs and decreases differ on the back and fronts.
 
 
 BACK
With two strands of yarn held together, CO 162 (172, 182) sts.
Row 1 (RS): *P2, k8; repeat from *, ending p2.
Row 2 (WS): *K2, p8; repeat from *, ending k2.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for rib for 5 (5, 6)", ending with WS row.
Dec row (RS): *P2, ssk, k4, k2tog; repeat from *, ending p2—130 (138, 146) sts
Next row (WS): *K2, p6; repeat from *, ending k2.
Next row (RS): *P2, k6; repeat from *, ending p2.

Row 1, 3, 7 and 9 (RS): K2, p1, k2, p2, k6, p2, pm (place marker), k1, ssk for neck dec, p1, k2 *p2, k2; repeat from * in est rib to end.
Row 2, 4, 6 and 8 (WS): Work sts as they face you.
Row 5: Work in est rib to marker, sl marker, k2, p1, k2tog for neck dec, continue in est patt to end.  
Continue in est patt working (dec -- ssk) 2 sts before marker every 4th row 5 (6, 7) more times—25 (26, 27) sts. Work until piece measures 24 (26, 28)" from beg, ending with a RS row.
 
Shape shoulder
Maintaining patt, BO 11 (12, 13) sts at side edge once, leaving remaining 14 sts on needle for cable collar. Continue in patt for 3 ½, (4, 5)" more or until piece will reach center back of neck. Place sts on holder.
 
LEFT FRONT
With two strands of yarn held together, CO 55 (63, 71) sts.
Row 1, 3, and 7 (RS): P2 *k6, p2; repeat from * to last 13 sts, k6, p2, k2, p1, k2 (front edge patt).

Maintaining patt, BO 2 (3, 4) sts at beg of side edge once. Then dec 1 st at side edge every other row 2 (3, 4) times; AT THE SAME TIME, beg shaping neck on a RS row as follows:
Row 1, 3, and 7 (RS): Work in est RIB  (p2, k2) rib to last 21 sts, PM, K2, P1, K2TOG FOR NECK DEC, K1, p2, k6, p2, k2, p1, k2.
Row 2, 4, 6 and 8 (WS): Work sts as they face you.
Continue in est patt working (dec –k2tog) 2 sts before marker every 4th row 5 (6, 7) more times—25 (26, 27) sts. Work until piece measures 24 (26, 28)" from beg, ending with a RS row.
Shape shoulder
Maintaining patt, BO 11 (12, 13) sts at side edge once, leaving remaining 14 sts on leave for cable collar. Continue in patt for 3 ½, (4, 5)" more or until piece reaches center back of neck. Place sts on holder.
Adjust length of Right and Left Front cable collar extension, if necessary, so that they meet at center Back of neck and with a 3rd needle work a 3-needle BO.
 
SLEEVES
With two strands of yarn held tog, CO 32 (36, 40) sts.
Work in k2, p2 rib inc 1 st at each edge every 6th row 5 (7, 8) times working inc sts in rib patt—42 (50, 56) sts. Work even until piece measures 17 (18, 18)" from beg, ending with a WS row.
Shape cap
BO 2 (3, 4) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Then dec 1 st at each edge every other row 9 ( 11, 13) times—20 (22, 22) sts.
BO row: K2tog at the same time binding off all sts across row.
 
FINISHING
Sew shoulder and side seams. Sew back collar to Back neck. Sew in Sleeves. Sew Sleeve seams. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
