Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Note: 1 ball each of A, B, C and D will make 10 dishcloths.

GAUGE

20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking stitch.

INSTRUCTIONS

Stripe Pat
With A, work 6 rows.
With B, work 2 rows.
With A, work 2 rows.
With B, work 6 rows.
With C, work 2 rows.
With B, work 2 rows.
With C, work 6 rows.
With D, work 2 rows.
With C, work 2 rows.
With D, work 6 rows.
These 36 rows form Stripe Pat.

 

INSTRUCTIONS
With A, cast on 36 sts.
Knit 3 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is WS and inc 3 sts evenly across last row. 39 sts.
1st row: (RS). K3. K2tog. K2. *Double Inc. K2. Sl1. K2tog. psso. K2. Rep from * to last 8 sts. Double Inc. K2. K2tog. K3.
2nd row: K2. Purl to last 2 sts. K2.
These 2 rows form pat. First 2 rows of Stripe Pat are complete.
Keeping cont of Stripe Pat, work in Pat until 36 rows of Stripe Pat are complete, dec 3 sts evenly along last row. 36 sts.
With D, knit 3 rows, cast off knitwise (WS).
