INSTRUCTIONS


The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

BACK AND FRONT (make alike)
Cast on 55 (61-65-73-79) sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: K1. * P1. K1B. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P1. K1.
These 2 rows form shaker rib pat.
Cont in pat until work from beg measures 10 (10½-11½-13-14) ins [25.5 (26.5-29-33-35.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row.
Shape raglans: Cast off 2 (2-2-4- 4) sts beg next 2 rows. 51 (57-61-65-71) sts.
Next row: K5. K3tog. Pat to last 8 sts. Sl1. K2tog. psso. K5.
Work 1 row even in pat.

Size 6 only: Keeping cont of pat, dec 2 sts each end of needle as before on next, and every following 8th row 5 times more. 23 sts.

Sizes 8, P, S, and M only: Keeping cont of pat, dec 2 sts each end of needle as before on next, and every following 6th row (1-2-3-3) time(s), then every following 8th row (5-5-5-6) times. (25-25-25-27) sts.

All sizes: Leave rem sts on a st holder.

SLEEVES
Cast on 23 (25-29-33-33) sts and proceed in shaker rib pat as given for Back, inc 1 st each end of needle on 5th and following 6th rows until there 33 (45-45-45-57) sts, then every 8th row to 51 (57-61-65-69) sts, taking inc sts into pat.
Cont even in pat until Sleeve from beg measures 14 (15-16-17-17) ins [35.5 (38-41.5-43-43) cm] ending with RS facing for next row.
Shape raglans: Cast off 2 (2-2-4- 4) sts beg next 2 rows. 47 (53-57-57-61) sts.
Next row: K3. K3tog. Pat to last 6 sts. Sl1. K2tog. psso. K3.
Work 1 row even in pat.

Sizes 6, 8, P and S only: Keeping cont of pat, dec 2 sts each end of needle as before on next and every following 4th row 2 (3-3-0) times, then every following 6th row 6 (6-7-10) times. 7 (9-9-9) sts.

Size M only: Keeping cont of pat, dec 2 sts each end of needle as before on next and every following 6th row 11 times. 9 sts.

All sizes: Leave rem sts on a st holder.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements. Cover with a damp cloth leaving to dry.
Neck edging: Sew in sleeves to Front and Back leaving left back raglan open. With RS of work facing knit across 7 (9-9-9-9) sts from Left Sleeve st holder. Knit 23 (25-25-25-27) sts from front st holder. Knit across 7 (9-9-9-9) sts from Right Sleeve st holder. Knit across 23 (25-25-25-27) sts from back st holder, inc 1 st at center. 61 (69-69-69-73) sts.
Beg and ending on a 2nd row, work 2½ ins [6.5 cm] in shaker rib pat as given for Back and Front.
Cast off knitwise. Sew left back raglan and collar seam.
