The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

SHORT VERSION
BACK

**With A and smaller needles cast on 79 (87-95-99) sts.
Knit 3 rows (garter st) noting first row is WS.
4th row: (RS). Knit.
5th row: Purl.
6th row: With A, K1. *With MC, MB.
With A, K3. Rep from * to last 2 sts.
With MC, MB. With A, K1.
7th row: With A, purl.
8th row: With A, knit.
With A, work 3 rows garter st inc 2 (2- 2-4) sts evenly across last row. 81 (89-97-103) sts.
Change to larger needles and work Chart in stocking st from row 13 to row 52 (52-56-56) of chart reading knit rows from right to left and purl rows from left to right noting side shaping on 7th and following 6th rows until there are 91 (99-109-115) sts.**
***Armhole shaping: Cast off 5 (6-8- 9) sts beg next 2 rows. Keeping cont of chart, dec 1 st each end of needle on next and following 4 (6-8-8) alt rows. 71 (73-75-79) sts.
Cont even until row 102 (104-106-108) of chart is complete, thus ending with RS facing for next row.
Shoulder shaping: Cast off 10 sts beg next 2 rows, then 10 (10-10-11) sts beg following 2 rows. Leave rem 31 (33-35- 37) sts on a st holder.***

FRONT
Work from ** to ** as given for Back.
****Ar mhole shaping: Cast off 5 (6- 8-9) sts beg next 2 rows. Keeping cont of chart, dec 1 st each end of needle on next row. Work 1 row even from chart. 79 (85-91-95) sts.
Shape neck: Next row: Work 2tog.
Work across next 37 (40-43-45) sts from chart (neck edge). Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
Work 1 row even from chart.
Keeping cont of chart, dec 1 st at armhole and neck edge on next and following 2 (4-6-6) alt rows. 32 (31-30- 32) sts.
Work 1 row even from chart.
Dec 1 st at neck edge only on next and following 9 (7-7-7) alt rows, then on following 4th rows 2 (3-2-3) times. 20 (20-20-21) sts.
Cont even until row 102 (104-106-108) of chart is complete, thus ending with RS facing for next row.
Shoulder shaping: Cast off 10 sts beg next row. Work 1 row even. Cast off rem 10 (10-10-11) sts.
With RS of work facing slip next st from spare needle onto a safety pin (center st). Join yarn to rem sts and pat from chart to last 2 sts. Work 2tog.
Work 1 row even from chart.
Keeping cont of chart, dec 1 st at neck and armhole edge on next and following 2 (4-6-6) alt rows. 32 (31-30- 32) sts.
Work 1 row even from chart.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements and using a steam iron, press lightly with a damp cloth leaving to dry on garment pieces.
Neckband: Sew right shoulder seam.
With RS of work facing, A and smaller needles pick up and knit 41 (43-43-45) sts down left front neck edge. Knit st from safety pin and mark as center st.
Pick up and knit 41 (43-43-45) sts up right front neck edge. Knit across 31 (33-35-37) sts from back st holder dec 1 st at center. 113 (119-121-127) sts.
1st row: (WS). Knit to center 5 sts. K2tog. P1. K2togtbl. Knit to end of row.
2nd row: Knit to center 5 sts. K2tog. K1. Sl1. K1. psso. Knit to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows 3 times more. Cast off knitwise (WS), dec as before. Sew left shoulder and neckband seam.
Armbands: With RS of work facing, A and smaller needles pick up and knit 87 (91-95-99) sts evenly along armhole edge.
Knit 3 rows (garter st).
4th row: ( RS). Knit.
5th row: Purl.
6th row: With A, K1. *With MC, MB.
With A, K3. Rep from * to last 2 sts.

BACK

With A only, rep last 2 rows (K1. P1) ribbing for 2¼ ins [5.5 cm] ending on a 2nd row and inc 4 sts evenly across last row. 91 (99-109-115) sts.
Change to larger needles and work Chart in stocking st from row 1 to row 52 (52-56-56) of chart reading knit rows from right to left and purl rows from left to right.*****

FRONT
Work from ***** to ***** as given for Back.
Work from **** to **** as given for Front of Short Version.

FINISHING

Rep last 2 rows 3 times more.
9th row: With MC, as 1st row.
With MC, cast off in ribbing dec as before.
