Abbreviations

C2R = Knit into front loop of 2nd stitch on left-hand needle, then knit 1st stitch, slipping both stitches off needle together.

C3B = Slip next stitch onto cable needle and leave at back of work. K2, then K1 from cable needle.

C3F = Slip next 2 stitches onto cable needle and leave at front of work. K1, then K2 from cable needle.

C4B = Slip next 2 stitches onto cable needle and leave at back of work. K2, then K2 from cable needle

Cluster of loops = yb. Insert right-hand needle knitwise into next st. Put 2 fingers of your left-hand behind right-hand needle and wind yarn 3 times around the point of the right-hand needle and your fingers in clockwise direction, ending with yarn on needle. Draw the loops through the st. Do not drop the original stitch off the left-hand needle. Remove fingers from loops. Place just made loops on right-hand needle back onto left-hand needle and knit them tog with the original stitch. Pull loops firmly through to the right side.

SLEEVE
FRONT AND BACK

Cont even in reverse stocking st until work from beg measures 17½ (18-19) ins [44.5 (45.5-48.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off.
Place markers on side edges of Sleeves ¾ (1-1¼) ins [2 (2.5-3) cm] down from cast off edge.

FINISHING
Block all pieces to measurements, cover with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
Neckband: Sew right shoulder seam. With RS of work facing pick up and knit 15 sts down Left Front neck edge. Knit across 18 sts from Front st holder. Pick up and knit 15 sts up Right Front neck edge. Knit across 32 sts from Back st holder. 80 sts.
Work 3 ins [7.5 cm] in garter st, then work 2 ins [5 cm] in stocking st. Cast off loosely. Sew left shoulder and neckband seam.
Fold neckband in half to WS and sew loosely in position noting that½ ins [1 cm] of garter st will fold to WS.
Sew in sleeves placing rows above markers along cast off sts of Front and Back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
