GAUGE

22 sts and 28 rows = 4" [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

Stripe Pat (knit all rnds)
A - 1. B - 3. MC - 2. A - 5. B - 1. MC - 7. A - 2. B - 5. MC - 1. A - 7. B - 2. MC - 3.
These 39 rnds form Stripe Pat.
Note: Body is worked in one piece from top down.

Yoke
With set of four smaller double-pointed needles and MC, cast on 84 (84-92-104) sts. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st.
1st rnd: *K2. P2. Rep from * around.
Rep this rnd of (K2. P2) ribbing for 2" [5 cm].
Change to larger needles and knit in Stripe Pat as follows:
1st rnd: *K13 (13-15-17). M1. (Place marker on last st). K29 (29-31-35). M1 (place marker on last st). Rep from * once more. 88 (88-96-108) sts.
2nd and alt rnds: Knit.
3rd rnd: *Knit to marked st. M1. K1. M1. Rep from * 3 times more.
Rep last 2 rnds 18 (21-22-23) times more. 240 (264-280-300) sts.
Note: Move sts to circular needle when necessary.
Knit 1 (1-1-3) rnd(s) even.
Divide for Body and Sleeves: Slip first 52 (58-62-66) sts onto length of yarn for right sleeve. Cast on 4 (4-6-6) sts. K68 (74-78-84) for front. Slip next 52 (58-62-66) sts onto length of yarn for left sleeve. Cast on 4 (4-6-6) sts. K68 (74-78-84) for back. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st. 144 (156-168-180) sts.

Body
Cont in Stripe Pat until work from dividing rnd measures 11 (12-12½-13½)" [28 (30.5-32-34.5) cm].
Change to smaller needles, MC and proceed in (K2. P2) ribbing as given for neck for 2" [5 cm]. Cast off in ribbing.

Sleeves
Join appropriate color to right sleeve sts. With set of 4 larger needles,
K52 (58-62-66). Cast on 4 (4-6-6) sts. Divide sts on 3 needles. Join in
rnd, placing marker after 2nd (2nd-3rd-3rd) cast on st. 56 (62-68-72) sts.
Cont in Stripe Pat, work 16 (12-12-6) rnds even.
Dec 1 st at each side of marker on next and every following 6th rnd until there are 50 (54-60-60) sts, then every following 4th rnd until there are 44 (44-48-48) sts.
Knit even in Stripe Pat until work from dividing rnd measures 7½ (-9½-10½)" [19 (21.5-24-26.5) cm].
Change to smaller set of 4 needles, MC and proceed in (K2. P2) ribbing for 2" [5 cm]. Cast off in ribbing.
Sew underarm seams.
