Sizes 4 mm (U.S. 6) and 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) circular knitting needles 24 ins [60 cm] long. Set of four sizes 4 mm (U.S. 6) and 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) double-pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension. 4 stitch holders.

GAUGE

20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

Note: When working from chart, carry yarn not in use loosely across WS of work, but never over more than 5 sts.
When it must pass over more than 5 sts, weave it over and under color in use on next st or at center point of sts it passes over. The colors are never twisted around one another.

BODY
With MC and smaller circular needle cast on 148 (160-180- 196-216-232-244) sts.
Join in rnd. Placing a marker on first st, proceed as follows: Work 2 ins [5 cm] in (K2. P2) ribbing, inc 2 (4-4-4-4-4-6) sts evenly around last rnd. 150 (164-184-200-220-236-250) sts.
Change to larger circular needle and proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 10½ (12½-13½ -15½ -15½ -16-16½) ins [26.5 (32-34.5-39.5-39.5- 40.5-42) cm].
Next rnd: P5 (5-5-6-6-6-6). Slip these 5 (5-5-6-6-6-6) sts and last 5 (5-5-6-6-6-6) sts of previous rnd onto a st holder. 10 (10-10-12-12-12-12) sts on holder. P75 (82-92-100-110- 118-125). Slip last 10 (10-10-12-12-12-12) sts just worked onto a st holder. Purl to end of rnd.

SLEEVES
With MC and set of four smaller needles, cast on 40 (40-44-48- 48-48-48) sts.
Divide these sts onto 3 needles.
Join in rnd and placing a marker on first st, work 2 ins [5 cm] in (K2. P2) ribbing, inc 6 (10-10-10-10-10-10) sts evenly around last rnd. 46 (50-54-58- 58-58-58) sts.
Change to larger needles and proceed in stocking st inc 1 st each end of rnd on 6th and following 4th (4th-4th-6th-6th- 4th-4th) rnd until there are 68 (66-60-80-88-78-78) sts.

Sizes 6, 8, L and XL only: Inc 1 st each end of rnd on following 6th rnds until there are (72-74-94-94) sts.

All sizes: Cont even until Sleeve from beg measures 10 (12-14½-17½-18-18½-18½) ins [25.5 (30.5-37-44.5-45.5-47-47) cm].
Next rnd: P5 (5-5-6-6-6-6). Slip these 5 (5-5-6-6-6-6) sts and last 5 (5-5-6-6-6-6) sts of previous rnd onto a st holder. 10 (10-10-12-12-12-12) sts on holder. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.

YOKE
With MC and larger circular needle *knit across 58 (62-64- 68-76-82-82) sts of sleeve. Knit across 65 (72-82-88-98-106- 113) sts of body. Rep from * once. Mark last st as end of rnd. 246 (268-292-312-348- 376-390) sts.
Purl 1 (3-3-5-5-7-7) rnd(s) even.
Next rnd: *P39 (14-8-11-5-5- 7). P2tog. Rep from * to last 0 (12-12-0-12-12-12) sts. P0 (12- 12-0-12-12-12). 240 (252-264-288-300-324- 348) sts.
Reading rows from right to left, work Chart to end of chart. 120 (126-132-120-125-135-145) sts.
Change to set of four smaller needles.

Sizes S and M only: Next rnd: With MC, *K2 (1). K2tog. K2. K2tog. Rep from * to last 8 (13) sts. K8 (4). (K2tog. K7) 0 (1) time. 92 sts.

Sizes 4, 6, 8, L and XL only:
Next rnd
: With MC, *K1. K2tog. Rep from * to last 12 (12-12-18- 10) sts. K12 (12-12-18-10). 84 (88-92-96-100) sts.

All Sizes: Proceed in (K2. P2) ribbing for 2¼ (-2½-3-3-3-3) ins [5.5 (5.5-6-8-8-8-8) cm].
Cast off in ribbing. Graft underarm sts.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements. Cover with a damp cloth leaving to dry.
