Main Color (MC) Hot Green (01712) 1
Contrast A Robins Egg (01215) 1
Contrast B Tangerine (01699) 1
Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] stocking stitch.

With MC, cast on 42 sts.

Knit in rows (garter st), noting first row is WS, until piece from beg measures 3 1/2" [9 cm], ending on a WS row. Break MC. Join A.

Next row: With A, knit.
Next row: K3. Purl to last 3 sts. K3.
Rep last 2 rows once more.

Note: When working from chart, carry yarn not in use loosely across WS of work, but never over more than 5 sts. When it must pass over more than 5 sts, weave it over and under the color in use.

Place chart: 1st row: With A, K3. (Knit 1st row of Chart) 3 times, reading row from right to left. With A, K3.
2nd row: With A, K3. (Purl 2nd row of Chart) 3 times, reading row from left to right. With A, K3.
Chart is now in position. Cont as established (working K3 at each end of every row) to end of chart. Break B.

With A, cont even in stocking st until work from beg measures 8 1/2" [21.5 cm], ending on a RS row.
Knit 5 rows (garter st). Cast off knitwise (WS).
