Abbreviations

k2tog = Knit next 2 stitches together.

Skp = Slip 1 stitch knitwise, k1, pass slipped stitch over. (1 stitch decreased)

ssk = Slip next 2 stitches knitwise one at a time. Pass them back onto left-hand needle, then knit through back loops together.

W&T = Bring yarn to front of work. Slip next stitch purlwise. Bring yarn to back of work. Slip stitch back onto left-hand needle. Turn.

INSTRUCTIONS

BACK 
Using MC, CO 79 (91, 101, 113, 123, 135) sts. 
Row 1 (RS): K1, *p1, k1; repeat from * across.
Row 2: P1, *k1, p1; repeat from * across.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for rib for 2"/5 cm. 
Change to Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS) and work until piece measures 13.5 (14, 14.5 15, 15.5 16)"/ 34.5 (35.5, 37, 38, 39.5, 40.5)cm from beg, ending with a WS row.

 

Shape armholes
BO 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts at beg of next 2 rows—69 (79, 87, 97, 105, 115) sts.
Dec 1 st at each edge every RS row 5 (7, 7, 9, 10, 11) times—59 (65, 73, 79, 85, 93) sts. Work even until armholes measure 5.5 (6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8)”/14 (15, 16.5, 18, 19, 20.5)cm from beg, ending with a WS row.

 

Shape shoulders
Next row: Knit to last 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) sts; w&t.  
Next row: Purl to last 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) sts; w&t. 
Next row: Knit to last 10 (12, 14, 16, 18, 18) sts; w&t.

Beg Fair Isle chart 
Next row (RS): Beg with 2nd (10th, 10th, 8th, 8th, 6th) st from right edge on Row 1 of Fair Isle chart and work across to end of chart, then work chart 10-st repeat across rem row. 
Work front as for back until piece measures 14.5 (15, 15.5, 16, 16.5, 17)"/37 (38, 39.5, 40.5, 42, 43) cm from beg continuing to follow Fair Isle chart, ending with a WS row; AT THE SAME TIME, shaping armholes when piece measures same as back to underarms. Place removable marker through center st for neck.

 

Divide for V-Neck Left Front
Continue in Fair Isle pattern while continuing to shape armholes; AT THE SAME TIME;
Next row (RS): Work across to 3 sts before marked st, ssk, k1. Turn; leave rem sts unworked for right front. 
Continue in Fair Isle pattern, working dec at neck edge every RS row 12 (13, 13, 14, 14, 17) times more. Work even on 16 (18, 22, 24, 27, 28) sts until armhole measures    5.5 (6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8)”/14 (15, 16.5, 18, 19, 20.5)cm from beg, ending with a RS row.

 

Shape shoulder
Next row (WS): Purl to last 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) sts; w&t.
Next row: Knit.
Next row: Purl to last 10 (12, 14, 16, 18, 18) sts, w&t.
Knit next row.
Purl last row across all sts, purling horizontal wrap along with st it wraps.
Place all 16 (18, 22, 24, 27, 28) sts on holder for left shoulder.

 

Right Front 
Slip center st on a safety pin. Join corresponding color in next st after center st. 
Continue in Fair Isle pattern while continuing to shape armholes; AT THE SAME TIME:
Next row (RS): K1, k2tog, continue across in Fair Isle pattern. 
Continue in Fair Isle pattern, working dec at neck edge every RS row 12 (13, 13, 14, 14, 17) times more. Work even on 16 (18, 22, 24, 27, 28) sts until armhole measures 5.5 (6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8)”/14 (15, 16.5, 18, 19, 20.5)cm from beg, ending with a WS row.

 

Shape shoulder
Next row (RS): Knit to last 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) sts; w&t.  
Next row: Purl.
Next row: Knit to last 10 (12, 14, 16, 18, 18) sts; w&t. 
Purl next row.
Knit next row across all sts, knitting horizontal wrap along with st it wraps.
Place all 16 (18, 22, 24, 27, 28) sts on holder for left shoulder.

 

Shoulder joining
Place 16 (18, 22, 24, 27, 28) sts right back shoulder sts onto needle. Holding front and back right shoulders with right sides together and needles parallel, work 3-needle BO on right shoulder sts as follows: Put right-hand needle through 1st st on front needle, then through 1st st on back needle and knit these 2 sts together. *Knit next pair of front/back sts together in this manner. With 2 sts now on right-hand needle, lift right-most st over last st knit and off the needle—1 st is now bound-off. Repeat from * across rem right shoulder sts. 
Repeat this three-needle BO for left shoulder sts, leaving the center 27 (29, 29, 31, 31, 37) back sts on holder for back neck.

 

Armhole edging
Sew side seams. 
Using circular needle and MC, with RS facing, pick up and k76 (86, 96, 106, 116, 126) around armhole. Place marker for beg of round. 
Next round: *K1, p1; repeat from * around. 
Repeat this round for 1"/2,5 cm. BO loosely in rib. 
Repeat for second armhole.

 

Neck edging
Using circular needle and MC, with RS facing, k27 (29, 29, 31, 31, 37) back sts, pick up and k24 (28, 34, 36, 38, 40) sts along left front edge, k center st from safety pin, pick up and k24 (28, 34, 36, 38, 40) sts along right front edge—76 (86, 98, 104, 108, 118) sts. Place marker for beg of round. 
Next round: Work k1, p1 rib to 1 st before center st, k1, k center st, then work k1, p1 rib to end of round. 
Dec round: Work in est rib to 1 st before center st, sk2p, work in est rib to end of round.
Next round: Work in est rib to 1 st before center st, k1, k center st, k 1, continue in est rib to end of round. 
Repeat last 2 rounds for 1"/2.5 cm, ending after a dec round. BO in rib.

 

FINISHING 
Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
