Work Thumb Gusset as given for Right Fingerless Mitten.
14th rnd: Knit to end of rnd, casting on
2 sts over slipped sts.****
Next rnd: (Marking rnd). With 5 mm double-pointed needle, K19 (22). Place marker. With 4 mm double-pointed needles, knit to end of rnd. Place marker. (It may be helpful to draw a length of contrast yarn through the sts between markers knit on looser needle).
Knit in rnds until work after ribbing measures 43/4 (51/4) ins [12 (13) cm]. Change to smaller needles and work 8 rnds in (K1. P1) ribbing.
