Sizes 8 mm (U.S. 11) and 10 mm (U.S. 15) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension. 3 st holders.

GAUGE

9 sts and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

BACK: **With smaller needles, cast on 31 (33-35-37-39) sts.
1st row: (RS). K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: P1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows of (K1. P1) ribbing twice more, inc 1 st at center of last row. 32 (34-36-38-40) sts.

Change to larger needles and proceed in stocking st for 10 (11-12-13-14½) ins [25.5 (28-30.5-34.5-37) cm] total length, ending with a purl row.

Shape armholes: Cast off 3 sts beg next 2 rows.**
Cont even to 16½ (18-19½-21-22½) ins [42 (45.5-49.5-53.5-57) cm] total length, ending with a purl row.
Cast off 6 (7-7-8-9) sts beg next 2 rows. Leave rem 14 (14-16-16-16) sts on a st holder.

FRONT
Work from ** to ** as given for Back.

Divide for front: 1st row: (RS). K13 (14-15-16-17). Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
2nd row: K2. Purl to end of row.
3rd row: Knit. Keeping 2 sts at center front in garter st, cont even for same length as Back to shoulder, ending with a purl row.
Next row: Cast off 6 (7-7-8-9) sts. Knit to end of row. Leave rem 7 (7-8-8-8) sts on a st holder. With RS of work facing, join yarn with sl st to rem sts and knit to end of row.
Work as given for left side, reversing all edgings.

SLEEVES
With smaller needles, cast on 15 (15-17-17-19) sts.
Work 6 rows in (K1. P1) ribbing as given for Back, inc 1 st at center of last row. 16 (16-18-18-20) sts.

Change to larger needles and proceed in stocking st, inc 1 st each end of needle on next and every following 4th row to 30 (32-34-30-28) sts.

Sizes 10 and 12 only: Inc 1 st each end of needle on every following 6th row to (34-36) sts.

All sizes: Cont even for 11 (12-13-14-15) ins [28 (30.5-33-35.5-38) cm] total length, ending with a purl row. Place marker at each end of last row.
Work a further 4 (4-4-4-6) rows. Cast off.

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams.

Hood: With RS of work facing, K7 (7-8-8-8) from right front st holder. K14 (14-16-16-16) from back st holder, inc 4 sts evenly across. K7 (7-8-8-8) from left front st holder. 32 (32-36-36-36) sts.
Keeping 2 sts at each edge in garter st, work 5 rows in stocking st.
Next row: (RS). Knit, inc 4 sts evenly across.
Cont even for 10 (10-11-11-11) ins [25.5 (25.5-28-28-28) cm] from pick up row. Cast off. Fold Hood in half and sew top seam.

Sew in sleeves, placing rows above markers along cast off sts of Front and Back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
