Size 5 mm (U.S. 8) circular knitting needle 40 ins [100 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE

17 sts and 36 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in garter st.

INSTRUCTIONS

Stripe Pat
With A: 90 rows.
With B: 90 rows.
With C: 90 rows.
With D: 90 rows.
With E: 90 rows.
These 450 rows form Stripe Pat.
Blanket
With A, cast on 2 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:
1st row:(RS) (Inc 1 st in next st) twice. 4 sts.
2nd row:Knit.
3rd row:K2. yo. Knit to end of row. Keeping cont of Stripe Pat, rep last row until 46 rows of C have been worked. (226 rows have been worked in total).
Next row:K1. K2tog. yo. K2tog. Knit to end of row. Keeping cont of Stripe Pat, rep last row to 5 sts on needle.
Next row:K1. K2tog. yo. K2tog. 4 sts.
Next row:Knit.
Next row:(K2tog) twice. 2 sts. Cast off.
