Abbreviations

Beg = beginning

cont = continue(ity)

Inc(s) = Increase 1 stitch by knitting into front and back of next stitch.

K = knit

K1tbl = Knit next stitch through back of loop

k2tog = Knit next 2 stitches together.

P = purl

P1tbl = Purl next stitch through back of loop.

P2tog = purl two stitches together

pat = pattern

psso = pass slipped stitch over

rem = remain(ing)

rep = repeat

rnd(s) = round(s)

RS = right side

Sl1 = Slip next stitch knitwise.

ssk = Slip next 2 stitches knitwise one at a time. Pass them back onto left-hand needle, then knit through back loops together.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ). Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to all sizes. 

Note: Garment is worked in one piece from cuff to cuff.

Beg at Right Sleeve, with pair of smaller needles, cast on 71 (71-81-91-91-101) sts.
1st row: (RS). K1. *P1. K1tbl. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P1. K1.
2nd row: P1. *K1. P1tbl. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K1. P1.
Rep last 2 rows for 1" [2.5 cm]. Place marker at end of last row.

Change to pair of larger needles and proceed in Arrowhead Lace Pat (multiple of 10 + 1) as follows:

1st row: (RS). K1. *(yo. ssk) twice. K1. (K2tog. yo) twice. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: Purl.
3rd row: K2. *yo. ssk. yo. Sl1. K2tog. psso. yo. K2tog. yo. K3. Rep from *, ending last rep with K2.
4th row: As 2nd row.
Rep last 4 rows for Arrowhead Lace Pat until work from marked row measures 15" [38 cm], ending on a WS row.

Shape Front and Back: Keeping cont of pat, cast on 30 sts at beg of next 2 rows. 131 (131-141-151-151-161) sts.
Cont in pat for 5 (6-6-7-8¼-)" [12.5 (15-15-18-21-23.5) cm], ending on a WS row.

Dividing for neck opening: 1st row: (RS). Pat across next 61 (61-61-71-71- 71) sts. K2tog. K2 (2-7-2-2-7). Turn. Leave rem sts on a st holder and proceed for Front as follows:
2nd row: P1 (1-6-1-1-6). P2tog. Pat to end of row.
3rd row: Pat to last 2 (2-7-2-2-7) sts. K2tog. K0 (0-5-0-0-5).
4th row: P0 (0-4-0-0-4). P2tog. Pat to end of row.
Cont even in pat until work from dividing row measures 8½ (-9½-10½-11½-12½)" [21.5 (21.5-24-26.5-29-32) cm], ending on a WS row.

Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). Pat to last 1 (1-5-1-1-5) st(s). Inc1 in next st. K0 (0-4-0-0-4).
2nd row: P0 (0-4-0-0-4). Inc1 in next st. Pat to end of row.
3rd row: Pat to last 2 (2-6-2-2-6) sts. Inc1 in next st. K1 (1-5-1-1-5).
4th row: P1 (1-5-1-1-5). Inc1 in next st. Pat to end of row. Break yarn. Leave sts on a spare needle.

With RS of work facing, join yarn to rem sts for Back:
1st row: K1 (1-6-1-1-6). ssk. Pat to end of row.
2nd row: Pat to last 2 (2-7-2-2-7) sts. P2tog. P0 (0-5-0-0-5).
3rd row: K1 (1-6-1-1-6). ssk. Pat to end of row.

Cont even in pat until work from dividing row measures 8½ (-9½-10½-11½-12½)" [21.5 (21.5-24-26.5-29-32) cm], ending on a WS row.

Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). K0 (0-4-0-0-4). Inc1 in next st. Pat to end of row.
2nd row: Pat to last 1 (1-5-1-1-5) st(s). Inc1 in next st. P0 (0-4-0-0-4).
3rd row: K1 (1-5-1-1-5). Inc1 in next st. Pat to end of row.

Do not break yarn.

Joining Back and Front: Next row: (RS). Pat across 64 (64-69-74-74-79) sts of Front. Inc1 in next st. Pat across 65 (65-70- 75-75-80) sts of Back. 131 (131-141-151-151- 161) sts.
Cont in pat until work from joining row measures 5 (6-6-7-8¼-)" [12.5 (15-15- 18-21-23.5) cm], ending on a WS row.

Cast off 30 sts at beg of next 2 rows. 71 (71-81-91-91-101) sts.
Cont even in pat for Left Sleeve until sleeve measures same length as Right Sleeve before ribbing, ending on a WS row.

Change to pair of smaller needles and proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). K1. *P1. K1tbl. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P1. K1.
2nd row: P1. *K1. P1tbl. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K1. P1.
Rep last 2 rows for 1" [2.5 cm]. Cast off in pat.

Bottom ribbing: With RS facing and pair of smaller needles, pick up and knit 95 (105- 109-125-141-157) sts evenly across bottom of Front.
Work in (K1tbl. P1) ribbing as given for Sleeve for 4" [10 cm], ending on WS row. Cast off in pat.
Rep for Back.
Sew side and sleeve seams.
Neckband: With RS facing and circular needle, pick up and knit 100 (100-110- 120-130-150) sts evenly around neck edge. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st.
1st rnd: *K1tbl. P1. Rep from * around.
Rep last rnd for 1" [2.5 cm]. Cast off in rib.
