Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE

20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] stocking stitch.

INSTRUCTIONS

Flower Center
With A, cast on 6 sts.
1st row: (WS). K6.
2nd row: K4. Turn.
3rd row: Sl1P. K3.
4th row: K3. Turn.
5th row: Sl1P. K2.
6th row: K2. Turn.
7th row: Sl1P. K1.
8th row: K6.
9th row: Sl1P. K5.
Rep 2nd to 9th rows 6 times more, then rep 2nd to 8th rows once. Cast off all sts.
Sew cast on and cast off edges tog. Weave yarn through center edges and fasten securely to close center.

 

Petals
With MC, cast on 8 sts.
1st row: (WS). K8.
2nd row: Inc1 in first st. K7. 9 sts.
3rd row: K8. Inc1 in last st. 10 sts.
4th row: Inc1 in first st. K9. 11 sts.
5th row: K10. Inc1 in last st. 12 sts.
6th row: Inc1 in first st. K8. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
7th row: Sl1P. K8. Inc1 in last st.
8th row: K9. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
9th row: Sl1P. K8.
10th row: ssk. Knit to end of row. 13 sts.
11th row: K11. K2tog. 12 sts.
12th row: ssk. K10. 11 sts.
13th row: K9. K2tog. 10 sts.
14th row: ssk. K8. 9 sts.
15th row: K7. K2tog. 8 sts.
Rep 2nd to 15th rows 9 times more.
