Abbreviations

C5B= Slip next 3 stitches onto cable needle and leave at back of work. K2, then slip purl stitch from cable needle back to left hand needle and purl it. K2 from cable needle.

C6B = Slip next 3 stitches onto cable needle and leave at back of work. K3, then K3 from cable needle.

C6F = Slip next 3 stitches onto cable needle and leave at front of work. K3, then K3 from cable needle.

GAUGE

22 sts and 30 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements, cover with a damp cloth. Steam lightly with iron. Remove cloth when dry.
Button and Buttonhole Band: Sew shoulder seams. With RS of work facing and smaller circular needle, beg at lower edge of Right Front, pick up and K90 (90-95-95) sts to first front dec and 50 (52-52-54) sts up neck edge. K51 (53- 53-57) sts from back st holder dec 14 sts evenly across. Pick up and K50 (52-52- 54) sts down Left Front neck edge and 90 (90-95-95) sts down front edge. 317 (323-333-341) sts. Do not join.
Beg on a 2nd row, work 5 rows in ribbing as given for Back.
6th row: (RS). Rib across 3 sts. *Cast off 2 sts. Rib across 15 (15-16-16) sts (including st on needle after cast off ).
Rep from * 4 times more. Cast off 2 sts. Rib to end of row.
7th row: Rib, casting on 2 sts over cast off sts.
Work a further 4 rows ribbing. Cast off.
Armbands: With RS of work facing and smaller needles pick up and knit 107 (113-119-125) sts evenly along armhole edge. Beg on a 2nd row, work 7 rows in ribbing as given for Back. Cast off in ribbing. Sew side and armband seams. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
