Size 10 mm (U.S. 15) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE

8 sts and 12 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS

Note: See diagram on page 2.

1. Beg Block: With B, cast on 8 sts.
Work 14 rows garter st (knit every row).

2. Corner Block: **1st row: (RS). With E, K7. Turn.
2nd and alt rows: Knit.
3rd row: K6. Turn.
5th row: K5. Turn.
7th row: K4. Turn.
9th row: K3. Turn.
11th row: K2. Turn.
13th row: K3. Turn.
15th row: K4. Turn.
17th row: K5. Turn.
19th row: K6. Turn.
21st row: K7. Turn.
23rd and 24th rows: K8.**

3. With C, work Corner Block from ** to **.

4. Plain Block: ***1st row: (RS). With D, K7. Sl1. Pick up 1 st from side edge of Beg Block. psso. 8 sts. Turn.
2nd row: K8.
Rep last 2 rows 6 times more (all alternate rows of side edge of Beg Block will be picked up into).***

5. With B, work Corner Block from ** to **.

6. Plain Block: 1st row: (RS). With E, K7. Sl1. Pick up 1 st from cast on edge of Beg Block. psso. 8 sts. Turn.
2nd row: K8.
Rep last 2 rows 6 times more (all sts of cast on edge of Beg Block will be picked up into).
7. With C, work Corner Block from ** to **.

8. With A, work Plain Block from *** to ***.

9. With D, work Plain Block from *** to ***, picking up sts along side edge of Corner Block 2.
