MEASUREMENTS

One size to fit average adult's head.

MATERIALS

Canadiana (100 g/3.5 oz;187 m/205 yds)
Main Color (MC) Deep Orchid (10332) 1
Size U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Stitch marker.

GAUGE

19 sts and 32 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter st.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 20 sts.
Work even in garter st (knit every row) until work from beg measures 3" [7.5 cm].
 
Shape as follows: 1st row: (RS). K2. K2tog. Knit to end of row.
2nd to 4th rows: Knit.
Rep last 4 rows until there are 9 sts, ending on a 4th row. Place marker at end of last row.
 
Cont even in garter st until work from marker measures 2½" [6 cm], ending on a WS row.
 
Shape as follows: 1st row: (RS). K2. Kfb. Knit to end of row.
2nd to 4th rows: Knit.
Rep last 4 rows until there are 20 sts rem, ending on a 4th row.
 
Cont even in garter st until work from beg measures 17½" [44.5 cm], ending on a RS row.
Cast off (WS).
 
FINISHING
Sew cast on and cast off edges tog.
