MATERIALS

Lace (85 g/3. oz;455 m/498 yds)
Main Color (MC) Soft Sage (33242) 1
Size 4 mm (U.S. G/6) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.

GAUGE

22 sc and 24 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Ch 3 at beg of rnd counts as dc.
Ch 145. Join with sl st to first ch to form a ring, taking care not to twist chain. (See Chart below).
1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. Join with sl st to first sc. 145 sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 3. 2 dc in each of next 2 sc. *Miss next 2 sc. 2 dc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sc. Miss next 2 sc. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
3rd rnd: Ch 3. *Miss next 3 dc. 1 dc in next dc. Ch 2. Working behind dc just made , 1 dc in first missed dc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
4th rnd: Ch 3. 4 dc in each ch 2-sp around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rep 3rd and 4th rnds to form Cross Shell Pat.
Cont in pat until Cowl measures approx 8" [20.5 cm], ending on 4th rnd of pat.
Next rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each dc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Fasten off.
