INSTRUCTIONS

2hdctog: yo, insert hook, pull up loop in first stitch, yo, insert hook, pull up loop in next stitch, yo, pull through all loops (1 stitch decreased)

 

PATTERN STITCH 
Half Double Crochet Ridges
Right Side rows: Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc), hdc in each st across, working through back loops only, turn.
Wrong Side rows: Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc), hdc in each st across, working through front loops only, turn.

 

BACK
Using MC, ch 43 (47, 51, 55, 59). 
Foundation row: Hdc into 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn—41 (45, 49, 53, 57) sts. 
Work even in Half Double Crochet Ridges until body measures 6 1/2 (7, 7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2)"/16.5 (18, 19, 20.5, 21.5)cm. Place markers in each edge for sleeve placement. Continue to work even until Back measures 11 (12, 13, 14, 15)"/28 (30.5, 33, 35.5, 38)cm, ending after a WS row. Fasten off.

 

FRONT
Work same as Back until sleeve placement. Place markers in each edge for sleeve placement, ending after a WS row.

Shape left front neck
Row 1 (RS): Work in pattern across 18 (20, 22, 24, 26) sts, hdc2tog over next 2 sts, turn leaving remaining sts unworked (1 st decreased at neck edge).
Row 2 (WS): Ch 2, skip first st, work in pattern across (1 st decreased at neck edge), turn.
Row 3 (RS): Work in pattern across until 2 sts remain, hdc2tog over next 2 sts, turn (1 st decreased at neck edge).
Repeat last 2 rows until a total of 10 (10, 11, 11, 12) decreases have been worked and 10 (12, 13, 15, 16) sts remain. Work even in pattern until left front measures same as Back to shoulders, ending with a WS row. Fasten off.

Shape right front neck 
Row 1 (RS): Join yarn to center front, ch 2, skip 1 st, work in pattern across, turn (1 st decreased at neck edge).
Row 2 (WS): Work in pattern until 2 sts remain, hdc2tog over next 2 sts, turn (1 st decreased at neck edge).
Row 3 (RS): Ch 2, skip first st, work in pattern across (1 st decreased at neck edge), turn.
Repeat last 2 rows until a total of 10 (10, 11, 11, 12) decreases have been worked and 10 (12, 13, 15, 16) sts remain. Work even in pattern until right front measures same as Back to shoulders, ending with a WS row. Fasten off.

Shoulder join
Holding Back and Front, with right sides together, sl st across 10 (12, 13, 15, 16) sts for each shoulder.

 

SLEEVES
With right side facing, join yarn to sleeve placement marker, work 36 (40, 44, 48, 52) hdc across to matching marker. Work even in pattern until Sleeve measures 2 (3, 3, 4, 4)"/5 (7.5, 7.5, 10, 10)cm, ending with a WS row. Fasten off.

 

FINISHING
Sew side and Sleeve seams.

Collar 
Note: Collar is worked using short rows. An initial row of sc is worked around the neck, then short rows form the shaping of a wider collar in back than in front.
With RS facing, join CC to right shoulder at neck edge. 
Row 1: Sc across 20 (20, 22, 22, 24) back sts, 18 (20, 22, 22, 24) sc along left front and 18 (20, 22, 22, 24) sc along right front—56 (60, 66, 66, 72) sts. Do not turn.
Row 2: Sc thru front loop across back 20 (20, 22, 22, 24) sts, sl st thru front loop into each of next 4 (5, 5, 5, 6) sts, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in each of next 22 (23, 25, 25, 28) sts, sl st thru back loop into each of next 4 (5, 5, 5, 6) sts, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in each of next 26 (28, 30, 30, 34) sts, sl st thru front loop into each of next 4 (5, 5, 5, 6) sts, turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in each of next 30 (33, 35, 35, 40) sts, sl st thru back loop into each of next 4 (5, 5, 5, 6) sts, turn.

Row 10: Ch 1, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sc in each of next 54 (58, 64, 64, 70) sts, turn.
Row 11: Ch1, sc in each st across, turn.
Rows 12-15: Repeat last row 4 times. 
Fasten off.

Tie
Using CC, ch 7.
Row 1: Hdc into 3rd ch from hook and in each of next 4 chs, turn—6 sts.
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn.
Repeat last row until tie measures 20”/51cm. Fasten off.
Tie in a bow and sew to bottom of V-neck.

Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
