Dc2tog = (Yoh. Draw up a loop in next st. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook.

GAUGE

In single crochet, 18 sts and 16 rows = 4"/10cm.

Hat is worked in round with RS facing throughout.

With A, make a ring using the adjustable ring method.

Round 1 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), work 11 dc in ring; join with FPslst around beginning ch—12 dc.

Round 2: Ch 3, [dc in next dc, FPdc around same dc] twice, ch 1, *FPdc around next dc, [dc in next dc, FPdc around same dc] twice, ch 1; repeat from * around; join with FPslst around beginning ch—20 dc and 4 ch-1 sp.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing Leaf to Hat.

 

Finishing

Using long tails, backstitch Leaves to Hat, sewing base of Leaf to one of the marked ch-3 sps and backstitching down the center of the Leaf to secure to Hat and embroider the center 'vein.' Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
