NOTES
1. Hat is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join and do not turn at the end of rounds. Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round and move marker up as work progresses.
2. Additional markers are used to indicate increase locations. Use different color markers for increase locations, than for beginning of round marker.

HAT

Round 1 (RS): Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join and do not turn—6 sc. Place marker to indicate beginning of round. Move marker up as work progresses.
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around—12 sc.
Round 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times—18 sc.
Round 4: [Sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc] 6 times—24 sc.
Note: Markers are placed in next round to indicate increase locations. In following rounds, increases (2 sc in same stitch) are worked in each marked stitch and the marker is then moved up.
Round 5: [Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, place a marker in last sc made] 6 times—30 sc.
Round 6: [Sc in each sc to marked sc, 2 sc in marked sc, move marker to last sc made] 6 times—36 sc.
Rounds 7–9 (10, 11): Repeat last round 3 (4, 5) more times—54 (60, 66) sc.
Remove the increase location markers, do not remove the beginning of round marker. Continue to move beginning of round marker up as work progresses.
Next Round: Sc in each sc around.
Repeat last round until piece measures 4 1/2 (5, 6)"/11 (12.5, 15)cm from beginning (to measure, flatten hat and measure straight down).
Last Round: Rev sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.
