Abbreviations

Cl = Cluster—Yarn over, insert hook in indicated st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook; [yarn over, insert hook in same st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 3 times; yarn over and draw through all 5 loops on hook.

sc = single crochet

shell = 4 tr in indicated ch (2nd ch of ch-3 space of next V-st).

Each scallop of First Ruffle is approx 7 ½"/19cm wide.

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES

1. Gauge is not critical for this project.

2. To work in back loops of a stitch, work under the top loop of the stitch furthest from you, as it faces you.

3. To work in front loops of a stitch, work under the top loop of the stitch closest to you, as it faces you.

First Ruffle

With A, ch 166.

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across, turn—165 sc.

Rows 2-4: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, working in back lps only, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 7: Rep Row 5.

Rows 8-9: Rep row 6.

Row 10: Ch 3 (counts as dc), sk first sc, dc in each of next 2 sc, *ch 1, dc in each of next 3 sc; rep from * across, turn—55 3-dc groups, 54 ch-1 sps.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, *sk sc, Sh in next sc, sk sc, sc in next sc, rep from * across, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first sc, *ch 2, sc in ch-1 sp of next Sh, rep from * across, ch 2, sc in last sc, fasten off.

Third Ruffle

With RS facing, join B with sl st to first unused lp of sc of row 7 of first Ruffle. Rep as for Second Ruffle.

 

FINISHING

Using yarn needle, weave in ends.

For best results, completely immerse in cool water and lie flat to dry.
