GAUGE

13 sc and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS

Note: When working from chart and joining colors, work to last 2 loops on hook of first color. Draw new color through last 2 loops and proceed. Carry color when not in use loosely across top of previous row and work sts around it to avoid stranding.

With MC, ch 29.
Foundation row: (WS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to end of chain. Turn. 28 sc.

Place chart: 1st row: (RS). Ch 1. Work 1st row of chart in sc, reading row from right to left to end of row. Turn.
Chart is now in position.
Cont working Chart until 28th row of Chart is complete.

Next row: (RS). With MC, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Do not fasten off. Do not turn.
Cont as follows:

Edging: 1st rnd: With MC, ch 1. Work 28 sc down left side to bottom corner. 3 sc in corner. 1 sc in each of 27 rem loops of foundation ch. 3 sc in corner. 27 sc up right side to top corner. 3 sc in corner. 1 sc in each of next 27 sc across top edge. 2 sc in same sp as first sc. Join with sl st to first sc. 124 sc.
2nd rnd: Sl st in next sc. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. *Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to 1 sc before corner sc. Ch 1. Miss next sc. (1 sc. Ch 2. 1 sc) in corner sc. Rep from * around. Ch 1. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
3rd rnd: Join A with sl st to any ch-2 corner sp. Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. Ch 1. Working over sts of 2nd rnd, *Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 dc in next missed sc of 1st rnd. Rep from * around, working 3 sc in corner ch-2 sps and ending with 1 sc in first ch-2 sp. Join with sl st to first sc.
4th rnd: *Ch 3. (Yoh and draw up a loop. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice in same sp as last sl st. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook - cluster made. Miss next 2 sts (ch-1 sp or dc). Sl st in next st (ch-1 sp or dc). Rep from * around, ending with: Miss next 2 sts. Join with sl st tofirst sl st. Fasten off.
