Size 8 mm (U.S. L or 11) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. Stuffing. 2 yds [180 cm] of white smooth worsted weight yarn for sewing. Sew on googly eyes.

1st rnd:Ch 1. 6 sc in ring. Join.
2nd rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc) 3 times. Join. 9 sc.
3rd rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc) 3 times. Join. 12 sc.
4th rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc) 3 times. Join. 15 sc.
5th rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc) 3 times. Join. 18 sc.
6th rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 sc) 3 times. Join. 21 sc.
7th rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc) 3 times. Join. 24 sc.
8th rnd:Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 7 sc) 3 times. Join. 27 sc.

Next rnd:Ch 1. (Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc) 6 times. Sc2tog. Join. 19 sts.
Next rnd:Ch 1. (Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc) 6 times. 1 sc in last st. Join. 13 sts.
Next rnd:Ch 1. (Sc2tog) 6 times. 1 sc in last sc. Join. 7 sts. Fasten off, leaving a long end. Stuff rem of Caterpillar. Thread yarn through rem sts. Pull tightly. Fasten securely. Weave white smooth yarn through each color changing rnd and tie tightly to define sections of Caterpillar as shown in picture. Fasten securely. Sew buttons for eyes.
