GAUGE

One small square = 5 1/2 x 5 1/2"/14 x 14cm; One large square = 11 x 11"/28 x 28 cm.

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE
Throw is made from 41 squares; 7 large square #1, 6 large square #2, 12 small square #3, and 16 small square #4. Squares are then sewn together, according to assembly diagram, and a single crochet edging worked all the way around.

LARGE SQUARE #1 (make 7)
With A, ch 6; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1 (RS): Beg-Cl in ring, ch 5 Cl in ring, ch 2, *(Cl, ch 5, Cl) in ring, ch 2; repeat from * 2 more times; join with sl st in beg-Cl—8 clusters.
Round 2: Sl st in first ch-5 sp, (beg-Cl, ch 3, Cl) in same ch-5 sp (corner made), ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, *(Cl, ch 3, Cl) in next ch-5 sp (corner made), ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2; repeat from * around; join with sl st in beg-Cl—8 clusters, and 3 dc across each side. Fasten off A.
Round 3: Join B in any corner ch-3 sp, (beg-Cl, ch 3, Cl) in same ch-3 sp, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, *(Cl, ch 3, Cl) in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2; repeat from * around; join with sl st in beg-Cl—8 clusters, and 7 dc across each side.

LARGE SQUARE #2 (make 6)
Work same as Large Square #1 using following colors: Work Rounds 1 and 2 with A, Rounds 3 and 4 with C, Rounds 5 and 6 with A, Rounds 7 and 8 with C.

SMALL SQUARE #3 (make 12)
With A, ch 4.
Round 1 (RS): 2 dc in 4th ch from hook (beginning ch counts as first dc), ch 3, [3 dc in same ch, ch 3] 3 times; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—Four 3-dc groups.
Round 2: Ch 2, dc2tog over next 2 dc (corner made), ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, [dc3tog over next 3 dc (corner made), ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3] 3 times; join with sl st in dc2tog—4 corners. Fasten off A.
Round 3: Join C in any ch-3 sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 4 dc in same ch-3 sp, ch 1, [5 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1] 7 times; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—40 dc, and 8 ch-1 sp.

SMALL SQUARE #4 (make 16)
With A, ch 4.
Round 1 (RS): 2 dc in 4th ch from hook (beginning ch counts as first dc), ch 3, [3 dc in same ch, ch 3] 3 times; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—Four 3-dc groups.

FINISHING
With RS facing, arrange squares as shown in assembly diagram and whipstitch together.
Edging
Join B with sl st in any corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, sc in each st and ch around, working 2 sc in each corner; join with sl st in beginning ch-1. Fasten off.
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
